Topics: News

RESTON, Virginia, United States — March 4, 2021 — AIS (Applied Information Sciences), a leading solution provider for enterprise cloud adoption, application modernization, and data intelligence, announces the award of GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) contract vehicle for Joint Venture with Simple Technology Solutions (STS), Applied Cloud Technologies (ACT). STS is an 8(a) HUBZone organization that provides government agencies with agile, DevOps, cloud adoption, and transformation services. Together, we formed ACT in 2018, and an 8(a) HUBZone multi-cloud service provider (CSP) created under the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Mentor-Protégé Program. ACT specializes in delivering enterprise hybrid and multi-cloud transformation. Our teams have deep expertise and cloud reseller capabilities for Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and are fluent in both government and commercial cloud.

The SBA Business Development Mentor-Protégé Program enables larger firms to provide business development assistance to 8(a) program participants. AIS supports STS with management, technical, federal contracting expertise, general, and administrative assistance under the partnership, and together, develop and deliver multi-cloud solutions. Through the GSA MAS contract vehicle, AIS and STS can jointly pursue 8(a) SDB set-aside opportunities. Government agencies can contract to ACT under two Special Item Numbers (SINS): (518210C) Cloud and Cloud-Related IT Professional Services and (54151S) Information Technology Services.

“Our partnership allows us to deliver multi-cloud solutions for enterprises in the public sector, bringing the strengths of AIS – an organization with expertise in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and Power Platform – and STS – an organization specializing in AWS and Google Cloud Platform,” said Larry Katzman, President and CEO, AIS. “Working closely with STS over the past few years and developing a mentor-protégé relationship has allowed us to create a shared methodology around multi-cloud delivery.”

“Agencies don’t want to be single-threaded when it comes to the cloud,” says Adrian Rich, Principal for Simple Technology Solutions, Inc. “Each CSP has different strengths and weaknesses, and customers want the promise of workload portability as their needs and finances change. Via the MAS, ACT now offers agencies a vetted partner that can provide a true multi-cloud approach along with maximum workload portability.”
